1/7/07 17:04 - Not a good time to live in Glasgow
Here in Glasgow it is raining very heavy with lots of thunder, I feel for the people at Glasgow airport who are waiting to board planes to go on holiday.
According to the news Terminal 1 is now open. I have heard a couple of flights go over not a many as usual. Last night is was eerily quite as the airport was closed after the terror attack, I live 10 minutes drive to the north of Glasgow Airport so I am on the flight path, I am used to hearing aircraft of all shapes and sizes go over my house.
This is the first time I have experienced a terror attack close to home, we hear the news about London and it just seems so far away. But it feels different when it is on your own doorstep.
It was amazing that no one was killed yesterday, when the SUV ploughed into
the entrance of terminal 1 at Glasgow Airport. The terrorist didn’t do the damage they were intending to do, both were caught by police and one is in critical condition at the Royal Alexandra Hospital after leaving the burning SUV on fire himself. Police said last night that the attack was linked to the 2 car bombs that failed to detonate in London on Friday. And latest news is that 5 peoples have been arrested, The two in Glasgow, two caught in the middle of the night on the M6 motorway in England and 1 person in Liverpool. There are a number of police raids going on in England and a couple of houses are being searched in Glasgow just west of the airport.
I am glad that my holiday has passed, and I didn’t experience any disruptions of any kind.
I have been horrible all week with a head cold, it just doesn’t seem to be shifting at all, and I’ve got a headache at the moment so I’m going to take some medication and lie on the couch and watch the “Concert for Diana” live from Wembley. Keifer Sutherland has just come on stage, he has introduced The Feeling.
